The most advanced CT scanner at Asian Hospital

GE XT LightSpeed VCT XTe scanner
Asian Hospital is the first in the Philippines and in Asia to acquire the ultra-modern equipment called GE XT LightSpeed VCT XTe scanner. The latest in computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA), it is used for cardiac imaging of the heart and coronary arteries and works with as few as five heartbearts and also reduces patients’ exposure to radiation by up to 70 percent.
The GE XT LightSpeed VCT XTe scanner provides a radiation dose of only around one to two milliservers compared with the conventional CT scanner. For only just three to four snapshots and a complete picture of the heart is already captured, which significantly reduces the patient’s X-ray exposure time.
The GE XT LightSpeed VCT XTe scanner is also capable of acquiring double coverage of its 40mm detector, which can be extended to a full 80mm. This means the anatomical coverage can deliver twice in a single scan. It has a new scanning technique exclusive to the LightSpeed VCT XTe machine called Volume Shuttle. This Volume Shuttle can perform neuro perfusion and angiographic studies in one exam. Ample scan coverage of other body exams such as pediatric, pulmonary, trauma, and oncology can also be ensured.
It is said that the whole brain can be covered in one setting with this modern scanner. Stroke and bleeding can be examined. An angiography of the head can also be done, by seeing the blood vessels that circle the head. An aneurysm or a malfunction that causes the bleeding or stroke can also be examined. Its application can also be extended to the abdomen, chest, lungs, and the spine with a dose of about five milliservers, which is still way lesser compared to the conventional machine.
The best advantage of the GE XT LightSpeed VCT XTe scanner is its excellent image quality, providing isotropic, 0.35-mm resolution over 40mm of coverage with up to 58,368 acquisition channels and can also obtain prominent quality image for a wide range of patient sizes.
