Please let me brag about something today. Just allow me to brag about it just once. He he. I cooked a vegetable menu today. It is called “Ginisang Kalabasa”. I think it can be translated as Sautéed Squash in English. In case you want to know how I cooked it, I am telling it here. But if you don’t want to know how I cooked it, I am still telling it here. You can’t stop me. Ha ha. In hot cooking oil, I browned some pieces of garlic, and added onions. After that I added some pieces of bacon. After the bacon changed its colour, I added the squash that I cut into thin pieces. I sautéed them then added a little bit of seasoning, pepper and 2 table spoons of fish sauce. Then I pour 3 cups of rice water (or “hugas bigas” in Filipino). Of course the quantity of rice water will depend on how much squash you have. Then I let it simmer for 20 minutes. After that, I already served it. Yippee. Luckily it turned out good. No one got hurt when they ate my Ginisang Kalabasa.
