Tallest Building in the World
Burj Khalifa, the tallest man-made structure in the world (828 m/2,717 ft), officialy opened yesterday, Monday. Construction for the Burj Khalifa, formerly known as Burj Dubai, started on September 21, 2009 and the exterior of the building was finished on October 1, 2009. The primary builder for the project was Samsung C&T, who also built the 2 previous tallest buildings in the world, Petronas Twin Towers and Taipei 101. Burj Khalifa has broken so many records including building with most floors (160), world’s highest elevator structure, world’s fastest elevators (64kph/40mph), world’s highest mosque (at 158th floor) and highest outdoor observation deck. The total budget for the project is US$1.5 billion.
The opening ceremony is celebrated with spectacular fireworks display. Fireworks were spewing out at every part of the structure lighting the building like a sword on fire. The display lasted for more than 3 minutes. I have posted 2 videos below of the magnificent fireworks show. The first video is in Pakistani (I think 
) and has lower quality but has a background music which makes the display more dramatic. The second video is of higher quality and no music but you can hear the reactions of the spectators on site. Enjoy the videos below, they’re awesome!
